Over the counter medicines

Please note that NHS England have stipulated that medicines needed for minor or short term conditions that are available over the counter at your pharmacy or supermarket are no longer available on prescription. This does not apply to medicines needed on a long term basis. Please click on the following link;

Similarly, the Royal College of GPs have asked individuals to consider “3 before GP” approach, and BANES CCG have advised GPs that the following medicines are not to be prescribed;

emollients for use in the bath or shower, gluten-free products (exceptions may apply), painkillers for minor illness, medicines for hayfever. Please click on the following links;

Art at Widcombe Surgery

The artists of Widcombe Art Trail are delighted to be working in partnership with Widcombe Surgery to showcase some of their work and, hopefully, brighten the surroundings for patients and staff here.

Widcombe Art Trail takes place once a year, with artists opening their doors to allow people to see their work and workplaces. This year’s Trail will take place on 22nd/23rd June. We are lucky in Widcombe to have a diverse range of artists and craftspeople, many of whom also take part in the Widcombe Craft Fair in November.

Exhibitions at the surgery will change every three or four months. To start with, we are featuring work that was recently displayed at the RUH, as part of the Bath Open Studios exhibition.

All work is for sale with 10% of the sale price going to a good cause nominated by the surgery. Please let the receptionist know if you would like to purchase a picture. They will be able to put you in touch with the Art Trail rep.

For further information about Widcombe Art Trail, please visit www.widcombearttrail.com or call Rachel Ward on 01225 314030 or email rachel_m_ward@yahoo.co.uk.
