Covid19 Vaccination Programme News

We have made excellent progress with the COVID vaccination programme and are very proud of the way that we have organised and managed the clinics that we’ve held during the first half of 2021.

After over 5 months of running a joint programme within our Primary Care Network, with our colleagues from Fairfield Park and Batheaston Medical Centre, we have now reached the end of delivering vaccines from the practice.   We attempted to reach everybody in Phase 1 of the National Programme – patients in Groups 1 – 9, listed below.  We will now not be receiving any more allocations of any Covid Vaccine.

We appreciate that for many reasons there are some patients who didn’t manage to get to one of our clinics.

For COVID-19 vaccinations please contact the National Booking Service to make an appointment – not your GP practice.  All local sites are now available through the National Booking Service online or by calling 119 and it’s the best way to get an appointment for both 1st and 2nd doses if you don’t have an appointment already.  Please don’t hesitate, when it’s your turn to be vaccinated please do so as soon as possible.

The NHS appreciates that at times the system can be busy and but be assured we will make sure everyone is offered the opportunity to be immunised so please keep trying.  New clinics are being set up all the time at various locations including some community pharmacies so your patience is appreciated.

Please do not contact the surgery with requests for help with booking your 2nd vaccination in an earlier timescale.  We have had a number of patients asking us to help them because they want to travel abroad or attend a special event.  We cannot help with this – you will have to talk to 119 and explain to them why you think you need an earlier appointment.  We are not arbitrators or facilitaros of such decisions.

We do not yet know what we will be doing in term of booster vaccinations and flu vaccinations.  As soon as we have the essential guidance from the NHS we will start contacting patients.

Thank you for your support and patience
